Introduced in 1955 as the top model in Mercury’s automobile line, the Montclair was as luxurious as it could get, with extra chrome trim and two-tone paint to stand out between the other Mercury products.
This car was manufactured in Saint Louis and sent to a dealership in California where it spend most of it’s early years.
Both the original 292 cui engine and the transmission have been rebuild, as well as the brakes.
It’s also factory equipped with Power Steering and heater.
The dual master cylinder and 12 V electrical system and new shocks were added later by the present owner.
Since the rebuild, the car has only 5,000 miles on the engine and although the interior is still factory stock, it looks like time stood still as it still looks pretty good.
